  • Most patients find acupuncture relaxing and soothing and some even fall asleep during treatments. While there can be a sensation with the superficial insertion of acupuncture needles it is not described as pain. Acupuncture needles are very fine and are inserted just underneath the skin so that with the very quick insertion they are hardly felt at all.

  • Acupuncture needles act as conductors for the connective tissues, which make up the largest organ in the body. When needles are inserted at specific location sites that correspond to the greater channels that span the entire body a current in created which stimulates to movement of qi, blood and body fluids along these channels. Acupuncture works to create movement in the body where stagnation has caused disease and pain.

  • Depending on your chief complaint we will work with you to find a treatment plan that will best fit your lifestyle and best treat your condition. Generally we ask people to come once per week for 8-10 weeks. For many conditions you will notice results right away, and for other chronic conditions it may take up to 10 treatments to begin seeing change.

  • Children of any age can benefit from acupuncture. Children’s conditions change much faster than adults and thus they respond very well to acupuncture.

  • The needles go from a few millimeters to 3 centimeters deep. The depth varies depending on the location on the body.

  • We require 24 hours notice before canceling an appointment. Late notice cancellations are subject to the full price of the treatment. Thank you for your understanding.

  • Please print and fill out our First Appointment Form and bring it to your first visit. Otherwise, there is no specific preparation for your treatment. In general, it helps our diagnostics when we see patients in a way that represents their every day life. Thanks!
